This stunning painting titled “The Hare” features a beautiful hare silhouette on a gold leaf gilded canvas encased in a glossy resin.

I first began this artwork by gilding the canvas with fine gold leaf making sure to over lap and layer the gold leaf to create the illusion of texture on the finished piece that beautifully captures the light. I then mapped out the hare using acrylic paint and then continued to add detail with the additions of paint drips and splashes that I love adding to all of my pieces. Finally I finished this painting with a high gloss, UV resistant and anti yellowing resin. The resin creates an eye catching shiny surface that glistens in the light.
